Martin Creed - I don't know what art is.

Series 4. Martin Creed

For our fourth artist series we bring you the eclectic British artist and musician Martin Creed. Creed won the Turner Prize in 2001 for Work No. 227: The lights going on and off. Despite famously quoting " I don't know what art is" his works range from paintings and sculptures to successful architectural installations such as the interior of the restaurant Sketch, in the heart of Mayfair, London. He is most renowned for his giant scaled paint brush installations, in which he directly uses walls as giant canvases. He creates a strong visual experience through the simple stroke of a brush. Today we share with you our favourite installations.

Enjoy!
