India Mahdavi - Bubblegum & Hugs.

Series 3. India Mahdavi

Pink bubblegum, silky velvet and art deco are words that come to mind when thinking of designer India Mahdavi. Her signature style is undoubtedly one of the most recognised in the world of interior design; her spaces channelling a playful, colourful, two-dimensional feeling which immerse you into another world, the India Mahdavi world.

Mahdavi trained as an architect, graphic designer, film maker and industrial designer; this is evident in her work as her super brand masters projects in hotels, restaurants, retail, private residences, furniture and jewellery.

Mahdavi seeks to create comfort not only in the way one experiences a space with their tactile senses but in the way one visually receives it. Her bold orchestration of vivid colour is used to engage our senses and our feelings creating spaces which evoke a feeling of happiness within us; spaces in which we feel “hugged” in. Mahdavi believes this is becoming a rare thing to experience in the progressively cold and digital world we live in today. She is right; her spaces are memorable, rare and truly an awe-inspiring experience.

Today we embark on a journey into Mahdavi’s world and reveal our favourite India Mahdavi projects.
